Get to Know Us

Salsa Kitchen was established in 2001 by Chef Paula O'Neill and her husband Chef Leonardo Larios. Together they brought a new concept to Tobago, opening the first tapas restaurant on the island. Though their paths diverged, Chef Paula ran Salsa Kitchen alongside her partner Iain, making a huge mark on Tobago's culinary scene until her passing in 2019.

Throughout the years, Chef Leonardo  became a culinary name in his own right, becoming head chef and manager at El Pescador for over a decade before pivoting to private catering and consulting.

Although they separated, their mutual respect never wavered and, in 2019 Chef Paula placed Salsa Kitchen's mantle in Leonardo's hands.

 

After a 7 year hiatus for renovation, Salsa Kitchen re-opened on February 1st 2026. With a blended menu of Chef Paula's creations and new recipes developed by Chef Leo.
